Channel Six Super School News Team
Congratulations to South’s Channel Six Super School News Team! Tyler Grossman and Kayla Binford, co-anchors and reporters Arlene Marquez, Matthew Settergren, Denise Ocampo and Abril Expinoza did an outstanding job when they taped their news program on November 17th. Their newscast will begin airing on Sunday, February 7, 2010 and continue each day until the following Saturday. The airing days and approximate times for the week are:
Sunday 4:55 p.m.
Monday 2:55 p.m.
Tuesday 10:55 a.m.
Wednesday 10:25 a.m.
Thursday 4:55 p.m.
Friday 2:55 p.m.
Saturday 10:55 a.m.

South's High Performance on CSAP
South Elementary is one of the 161 schools that demonstrated the highest sustained rates of student academic progress over three consecutive years in Colorado.

South Principal Named Colorado Principal of the Year
Mrs. Collins was named the Colorado recipient of the National Distinguised Pricipal's Award for 2009. (Say that 5 times fast.) The award is presented by the Colorado Association of School Executives. The award process included nominations from staff and parents. Interviews were conducted with staff, 27J administration, parents, and Mrs. Collins.
